Hello all. Just starting out with drone flying, with my Yunneec Typhoon 500+ drone, but the battery type concerns me as its a Lipo type, and as you know these are volatile batteries.
So does anyone know of an ordinary battery, instead of a Lipo type, I can use in my aircraft please?

@Neil Nice to hear from you and welcome! Lithium-ion batteries generally last longer than lithium-polymer batteries. An average lithium-ion battery can last two to three years, whereas lithium-polymer batteries have a much shorter life span. That’s because the gel-based electrolyte begins to harden in Li-Po batteries. Lithium batteries are compatible with your drone model. Compatible Lithium batteries cost ranges betwen $105.00 - $120.00. You can purchase Typhoon H Lithium batteries on line at Amazon, Ebay and other retail stores carrying electronic supplies. Will there be a weight difference between lipo and lithium you mentioned, or if there is, will it be very little difference?

Been trying to check out who has the batteries you mentioned for my Typhoon, the Lithium IOn, but all seem to still be the LIPO types inc Amazon ones.
Could you advise who actually I could go to to get them please?

Also, there are several non-Amazon lithium resellers available as well such as BatteryClerk.com, Walmart SuperCenter (may or may not be in your area) as well as Best Buy.retailer store if avaialbe in your area or you can order online. I hope this is helpful to you. Please let us know if these options work for a lithium replacement battery for your Typhoon drone.

We spoke about getting a Non Lipo type battery, so a lithium ion type would be better thab lipo.
The link for instance you sent me here for amazon, shows a lithium polymor, which is what i have already, so not a lithium ion.

how do you like the Yunneec Typhoon 500+ ? I am not familiar with that type of drone, is it an FPV? I am very interested in FPV I love playing DRL Sim on XBOX and I am looking into purchasing an FPV drone.
